Released in late 2007 the RC8 took the world by storm. It moved KTM from an off-road based operation to a super bike manufacturer. This was the first bike aimed at the sports bike market and aimed squarely at the Aprilia, Ducati, Suzuki twins.

The 1190 cc twin cylinder is based on the proven RC8 engine which usually fits into their off-road, touring and 'supermoto' models. The capacity is up from the newest 990 engine and manifests in low down grunt.

The engine cylinder head has been completely redesigned, along with the camshafts to give a truely dynamic drive.

The fuel injection system and mapping has been redesigned for road race performance and certainly delivers in both environments.
